Bunny Tales: It’s Tisket A Tasket Day!

Bunny Tales: It’s Tisket A Tasket Day!
The first name I thought of was "Chippie", sounds good for a squirrel. I have lots in my back yard because I have hickory and black walnut trees. They drive my dog nuts.

Pincushion

I made this pincushion the other night for a pincushion challenge my guild is having in April. I am taking it to the Quilters Choice quilt shop in Jupiter for what they call "Sew fun club". They include a show and tell and they have free demonstrations. Should be a lot of fun. My friend Sue who lives here in Florida is a good customer there and we are going together.

I can't wait to get back home for many reasons, but one is so I will have more room to sew. There just isn't enough room for cutting, etc. Also, I have so many projects that need to be machine quilted and I can't do that on my featherweight.
I can't wait to see the daffodils, crocus and tulips starting to bloom. And working in my gardens, it seems so long and I can't wait to start getting the winter kill off the perennials and uncover the roses. Spring sunshine and warm weather is just around the corner, can't wait.

Flordia Happenings

[Photo][Photo]Life has been really busy this winter in Florida. Daughter Debi and grandson Andrew visited last week. We spent a lot of time at the pool, ocean, visiting friends and doing kid things. It was so great, but when he is good he is really good and when he is bad he is really bad. But we love him. He is so attached to his Bumpa (his grandpa Chuck). All of our grandkids call him Bumpa. I had to put my sewing machine away while they were here, but I am getting it back out this weekend. It is going to be really hot in the next week or so. In the high 80's. We are going to the flea market tomorrow to buy fresh fruit and veggies. They have really good prices there and lots of other things for sale. I am going to Stuart on Monday with a quilting friend, Sue Davis that lives near here. Also, there is a really good quilt shop in West Palm Beach that I have wanted to go to. Here is their website http://www.myquiltshoppefl.com/ They have some great sale fabrics.Labels: fleamarket, Florida, quiltshopsI have two work in process quilt tops that I have finished and will quilt on my Bernina when I return home. One is a charity quilt for donation and the other one is for me. Next, I will continue to work on the French Rose Quilt.

Trying to get some sewing done in the RV

Trying to get some sewing done in the RV [Photo]I am finding it kind of hard to get much sewing done in the RV. I have to use the bed as a cutting table, and the sewing table is so small, there is not much room. But I am making the best of it. There are so many fun things to do every day, I am easily distracted. We have been taking our dog to the ocean every day or every other day so he can play on the beach. He loves to fetch in the water. We went to a flea market yesterday and had a great time shopping for fresh veggies and fruit. Three mornings a week the RV park has water aerobics, which I am really enjoying. Also, Chuck and I have been riding out bikes around the neighborhood.

Finally online in Florida

We made it to Florida safe and sound. We have spent the last week getting settled and getting use to the new area. We went to a super bowl/birthday party at our good friends in West Palm, we are going out on their boat tomorrow. The weather has be really great high 79's to high 80's.I did a lot of hand sewing on the trip down and since I have been here I have cut out the flowers for a French Roses quilt that I am going to make. The pattern came from the Quilt Pink magazine 2007. If you can find it it is worth the money, there are so many great quilt patterns in it. Also, the French Roses quilt pattern is available at quilt shops and online

The countdown has begun

The countdown is on, we are leaving for Florida on Wednesday morning January 30th. We hope to be there by Friday. That's when our reservations begin and we will be there until the end of March. We have a 5th wheel and stay along the way two nights. I have my little Singer Featherweight machine packed and ready to go with lots of fabric, patterns, etc. Hope to do a lot of sewing while I am relaxing. We will also be going on a cruise to the Bahamas with our good friends that live near where we stay. The bad part about going away for two months is we will miss our grandkids. We take care of our 3 year old grandson Andrew alot while his mom is at work, so we are really attached to him. That is his him getting his hair cut by his mom. They will be visiting us in Florida sometime in March.
